How to create a Slider Card

I'm going to try to write the instructions for making this card to go along with the video.
Slider Card Instructions
Supplies:
8 1/2 x 11 cardstock
Misc. pieces of cardstock for layering (3)
Small piece of watercolor paper
Watercolor Pencils
Blender Pen
Double-sided sticky tape
Red Liner tape
Black Stazon stamp pad
* Stamp an image on the watercolor paper, using Black Stazon ink pad
* Outline image with appropriate watercolor pencil(s)
* Using Blender Pen, move color from outlining in towards the center, using circular motions
* Adhere stamped image to 1/4" larger piece of cardstock, which will be adhered to 1/4" larger piece of cardstock to the middle folded of the folded paper
Piecing the card together...
* Fold 5 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock at 3 1/2", 7 1/8", 10 5/8"
* In the middle section, punch out a half circle at the top (using a 1" circle punch)
* Place the three layers of cardstock and watercolor paper in a pleasing location and tie 1 or 2 pieces of ribbon around all three layers and adhere to that location
Slider Section...
* Cut piece of plastic bag 1 1/2" by 12"
* Wrap around the side of the card without the flap (to right of stamped image) and tape snugly in the middle, using double-sided tape
* Stamp images on two pieces of cardstock that are cut to 5 1/2" x about 3" - -
* Stamp one image or saying at the top of one piece and cut a half-circle from complimentary color cardstock and glue at the top-middle, and staple a piece of folded ribbon to that half-circle.
* The second piece of 5 1/2" x about 3" cardstock, you will stamp an image or saying at the bottom.
Putting it all together...
* Piece with image/saying stamped at top goes between the middle layer and the layer to the right of that. Place double-sided tape at the BOTTOM of the plastic bag strip and adhere cardstock to it.
* Piece with image/saying stamped at bottom goes behind the plastic bag and piece to the right of the middle again, double-sided sticky taped BACKWARD at the TOP of the plastic bag piece.
* Now, tuck it all together, making sure that the red liner tape on the thin fold goes UNDER the slider flap, so that the mechanism will slide. Red liner tape is used here, because there are so many layers to hold.
I hope I have all the instructions written correctly, so that I'll be able to try making one of these slider cards.
*** Just in case my instructions are wrong, here's another set of instructions I found on SCS, by "Born to Stamp" ***
You will need:
1 peice of card stock 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 (card base)
1 peice of cardstock 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 (card front)
2 peices of cardstock 1 5/8 x 4 5/8 - stuck together for stability (slider)
scrap peice of cardstock to stamp your image on (I doubled this one for stability too)
How to:
1) take card front and stamp any background image that you want
2) flip over the card front and on the back (with pencil) mark the area you would like to cut out (for my card it was 4 x 1 3/. Using an exacta knife and straight edge, cut out this area. I like the slider on the right hand side of the card, so directly accross from the area where the slider is going to be, I punched 1/2 of an oval.
3) If you want any image to be reveiled when you slide the slider (and in my case, when you flip the corner), now would be a good time to do that. I placed my card front on top of the base and then very lightly traced the cut out area, I removed the card front, did my stamping, and then erased the lines.
4) flip your card front over again (wrong side should be up) and place a strong adhesive on the outside edges of all but the right hand side of the card, as well as the same 3 sides of the cut out, 3/8 of an inch from the edge of the cut out
5) you are now ready to stick the card front onto the folded card base.
6) insert your doubled up slider (prepared the way you want it) all the way into the space left open for the slider. Once again with strong adhesive, stick your stamped image (base for this should be bigger than the opening for the slider) to the far left hand side of the slider. Trim any slider that is outside of the card. Open slider and put a pull sign on it (for those who won't figure that out to pull it on there own)

Save Paper On This New Big Shot Die
This is a video that will find on Patty Bennett's blog( http://pattystamps.com/pattys_stamping_spot/2009/03/big-shot-matchbox-die-tips-video.html ) I placed it here for my personal use only... makes it much easier for me to remember where to find. My blog is not listed for other people to find, it's TOTAL purpose is for a reference for ME! Please, also note that I used Lisa's words, as I haven't even purchased that die yet. Now, on to Patty's video...

I just got my new matchbox die from the Occasions mini and went to use it like all the other XL ones and cut my 12×12 DSP in half and guess what? It was too short. So, then I got my ruler out and measured and each piece needs to be approx. 5 1/2 by 6 1/2 and I was like "wow,that is a bummer for cutting". So, at first I cut the 12×12 at 6 1/2 and got 2 pieces out of that and then one more from the leftovers but I started thinking that I could somehow make it work to get 4 pieces out of 1 sheet and I did it! ( I used to be a math teacher). I took the back piece from a pack of DSP to make my template. I used my ruler to draw a pencil line 5 1/2 inches in from each side and you should end up with a square in the center. Using your ruler as a guide, cut the square out of the center with the craft knife. Then this is your template from now on. Each time you want to cut a piece, simply put it on top of your 12×12 paper and trace the inside of your square, Now lay the paper on your cutter and cut to the bottom left edge of each side of your square. I practiced on a piece of cardstock to see how easy it was and it literally took me about 1 minute from start to finish. Once you get the hang of it, it is super easy and will save you a bunch of paper if you are doing it for a class. Your pieces do not have to be perfect either because you have a little room around the edge of each die to work with. I hope this makes sense. Here are the pictures of the template and the finished cut one ( I practiced on scrap paper that I wasn’t going to use before I tried it on the good stuff!)….

Diamond Fold Spring Fold Card
