Begin with a piece of card stock color of your choice, measuring 4-1/2" x 11". Score the 11" side at 1/2", 2-1/2", 3-1/8", and 5-7/8". Fold on all the score lines and add a piece of Tear & Tape adhesive to the 1/2" score tab.
Fold the tab up to meet the 5-7/8" fold line and adhere into place.
Cut a second piece of card stock measuring 3" x 9". Score the 9" side 1/2". Score in from each 3" side to 2-1/2". Cut each side from the top of the score line diagonally to the bottom corner. Cut the lines on the 1/2" section up to the intersecting lines. Add Tear & Tape to each of the bottom 3 tabs.
Adhere the flaps to the underside of the base, as pictured.
The basic shape of the base is now ready to be decorated as desired. In the case of this example I rounded the upper corners with a rounded corner punch before adding a scene created with the Oval Framelits and Sleigh Ride Framelits to the back section.
To create the blocks begin with a piece of Basic Gray card stock measuring 6-1/2" x 8-1/4". On the side measuring 8-1/4" score at 1/4", 2-1/4", 4-1/4", and 6-1/4". Flip the card stock around and on the 6-1/2" side score at 1/4", 2-1/4", 4-1/4", and 6-1/4". You will also need to make 4 additional score lines on the second row from the top. On the two outer squares score 1/4" on both the top and bottom of the scored squares.
Cut away the portions not needed (represented by the X's in the photo).
Be sure to cut the tabs up to all the score lines and cut each tab on an angle for ease of assembly. Add Tear & Tape adhesive to each of the 7 tabs.
Assemble. Create 2 boxes. They are now ready to decorate.
Each of the blocks in the example was decorated with a piece of Home for Christmas DSP, measuring 1-7/8" square. I cut a tag from the Tags and Labels Framelits from Pool Party card stock, sponged the edges with Early Espresso ink before gluing them to each side of the blocks. The numbers were cut from Mossy Meadow card stock using the Little Number Thinlits. Place the numbers on the blocks as follows: Block #1: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Block #2: 0, 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 (the 6 can be flipped to create the 9).
